Black Salt (Kaala Namak)

"Kala Namak," also known as black salt, is a type of rock salt commonly used in South Asian cuisine. Despite its name, it is actually pinkish-grey in color. The distinct color comes from the presence of trace minerals and iron sulfide. Kala Namak has a unique sulfurous and pungent smell, often described as being similar to boiled eggs, due to its sulfur content.
